"This is incredibly spicy, with slate, blueberry and dried violets. Tar. Full body. This is spicy with cloves, white pepper, dark fruits. The aftertaste goes on forever. It's like eating Hunan food. Incredible. Shows what great malbec is about." - James Suckling
"The 2011 Mariflor Malbec is the first pure Malbec to be produced from Michel Rolland's vineyard. It has an attractive, well-defined, espresso-scented bouquet with subtle black cherry and dried violet aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, slightly edgy tannins. It is tightly coiled, with tarry black fruit and a weighty finish this needs a year or two to unfurl. The finish has good grip, but it seems a little coarse at present. Drink 2014-2019." - Neal Martin (203, The Wine Advocate)
