Production methods are traditional, with a constant quest for greater quality, under the watchful eye of oenologist Michel Rolland. The wines have shown an admirable progression in quality over the last ten years, and can now lay claim to the legendary elegance of Pomerol's finest.
Montviel was purchased by Catherine Péré-Vergé in 1985; passionate about wine, she devoted herself to it with talent and energy. This indefatigable perfectionist also owned Châteaux La Gravière, Le Gay and La Violette, and vineyards in the New World. The property's 8 hectares are characterised by two types of soil: clayey gravel and fine sandy gravel.
