Cabernet Sauvignon 72%, Merlot 28%
The most underrated wine in the Lafite stable these days has put in another strong performance with the 2020 Duhart-Milon, as this somewhat cooler, later-ripening site is well adapted to warmer vintages. Unfurling to reveal aromas of cassis, plums, cigar wrapper, loamy soil and violets, it's medium to full-bodied, broad and layered, with polished tannins, terrific depth at the core and a long, sapid finish. Robert Parker
On the nose, fresh, fruity, elegant, offering a nice freshness, a fine floral side as well as some minerality and a nice fine grain. It reveals the notes of fresh cherry/crunchy cherry, strawberry and more slightly juicy cassis/blackberry associated with hints of violet, sweet spices, nutmeg, fine floral notes and a discreet hint of cardamom. The palate is fruity, nicely fresh, elegant, tightly wound and offers delicacy, a little richness, greed, roundness, suavity and an airy character. On the palate, expressing notes of fresh cherry, pulpy/fresh redcurrant and more slightly fresh raspberry associated with hints of fresh/juicy violet plum as well as hints of cassis, lily, tonka bean, caramelization, discreet hints of fresh hazelnut, subtle hints of toast and tea. Good length. The tannins are precise and mellow. A very fine chew on the finish/persistence. VerdeVin
Kräftiges Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, dezente Ockerrandaufhellung. Reife Zwetschken, Brombeerkonfit, kandierte Orangenzesten, etwas Nugat, einladendes Bukett. Saftig, elegant, feine Kirschen, schokoladige Textur, feine Tannine, ausgewogen, mineralisch und anhaftend, feine salzige Nuancen im Abgang, gutes weiteres Entwicklungspotenzial. (2025–2045) Falstaff
Red pit fruits, flowers, cedar, and plums with a touch of tobacco leaf, and create the nose. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, vibrant, soft, and energetic with an air of elegance, refinement, and silky textures which feel great on the mid-palate, and in the finish. This is the debut vintage produced in their new cellars which helped shape the wine as it allowed the team to vinify for the first time on a parcel-by-parcel basis. Drink from 2024-2045. Jeff Leve
This ripe wine has some serious tannins and rich black fruits. Behind the structure, a swath of black fruits gives the wine concentration and ripeness. Drink this textured wine from 2027. Wine Enthusiast
