Chateau Haut Batailley ist ein Top-Pauillac, das als fünftes Gewächs Jahr für Jahr sensationelle Weine hervorbringt. Die Historie von Haut Batailley reicht zurück bis in das 15. Jahrhundert. Der zweifelhafte Ruhm einer großen Schlacht im Rahmen des 100-jährigen Krieges, die in den Weinbergen von Chateau Batailley ausgetragen wurde, brachte dem Chateau letztlich den Namen Batailley (bataille - Schlacht). Im Jahr 1942 wurde das Gut geteilt in Chateau Batailley und Chateau Haut Batailley. Haut Batailley wurde im Jahr 2017 von Jean Charles Cazes von Chateau Lynch Bages übernommen. Allein dieser Kauf verrät über das Potential des Terroirs! 40 Hektar stehen auf Chateau Haut Batailley unter Reben, die sich zu 61% auf Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot und 3% Cabernet Franc verteilen. Ein Teil der Weinberge grenzt direkt an Chateau Latour an.

The 2016 Haut Batailley has a deep garnet-purple color and aromas of baked redcurrants, red plums and cassis with asphalt, fried herbs and earth. The palate is medium-bodied, firm and chewy with an earthy finish. Robert Parkers Wine Advocate
